If the favourite drink of Vila, or
the drug of the Brave New World(1)
fails to have you giggling aloud(2),
And you say as much in writing(3),
Better get your lawyers prepared.
For the libellulosoma mob is coming in a cloud,
Minuta attornies, don't pretend that you're not scared,
Of tiny Dragonflies all armed with writs.
Libel, lol, o' soma ! comes their fiercesome battle-squeak,
And before their high-pitched eloquence, a human judge is meek,
For fear they'll swarm and get inside his ornamental wig, and
worry him to a judgement, just like nits.
Libellulosoma is a genus of dragonfly in family Corduliidae. It contains the following species:
(1) Adrenaline and Soma, and just Soma
(2) LOL laugh out loud
(3) Libel.

On being the smaller of twin peaks
The matterhorn, the matterhorn
Wherever is the matter gorn
That made its awful size?
(I speak of Colorado's mount
not the one in the Alps,
No Swiss mountain has
er been seen, to vanish
from its native scene,
they're always there to count.)
In wilderness Uncompahgre
It stood a peak in company,
Much cooler than its taller peer
the nerdy Wetterhorn.
And yet if felt it very ill
The Wetterhorn was taller still,
If damper, and less sturdy.
"Oh woe, is me," the mountain moped
(My witness is a birdy)
And then it took its slopes and sloped,
Off to seek stature, in the world
Returning only if it held
Some spire or cairn to top its kin,
Make it the betterhorn.

Rudolph Sophus Bergh (Random wikipedia poem)
Rudolph Sophus Bergh divided his time between his music and his animals,
In this way, he epitomised the human spirit - poised between the ape and the sonata,
Thinking of him, I imagine a violin bow thrown, skyward in a group of evening dressed, orchestral players,
Turning in the air to become a spaceship, in the background, a monolith,
It is one of the tragedies of man, to die, before the creation of art, that might explain him.
Rudolph Sophus Bergh (22 September 1859 – 7 December 1924) was a Danish composer and zoologist. He was the son of physician and zoologist Rudolph Bergh. He received his general education at the Metropolitanskolen and then studied music at the Royal Danish Academy of Music and zoology at the University of Copenhagen. He later taught histology and embryology at the university and published two books in his field: Forelæsninger over den almindelige Udviklingshistorie (1887) and Forelæsninger over den dyriske Celle (1892). In 1898 he was appointed a member of the Royal Danish Academy of Sciences and Letters. In 1903 he abandoned his science career and moved to Germany to focus solely on his work as a composer. After World War I he returned to his native country to teach at the Royal Danish Academy of Music.

Kennitala (Random wikipedia poem)
Then the mighty leminkainen travelled swift
To far off iceland
On his chariot of black-ice
Black-ice bound with tusks of walrus
Spells he sang it, so it iron-rang,
Hard as star-forged elder metal,
Cold as witch-heart, fast as moonlight,
On his chariot, his bearskins,
Served to warm him, as he travelled,
Thus he came to elder-iceland,
Under shards of Northern ghost-light,
Er the settlement of Arnarson,
Er the Norseman stayed the winter,
Sought he there the scrying sister
Watcher of the latter ages,
Sought the subtle Kennitala.
What she wondered was his payment.
For her arts, to see his future,
What the wonderworker's offer
What would sate the lonely daughter
Of the stormgod, what appease her?
This the mighty lemminkainen,
Offered her, to sooth her anger,
To appease her lonely sojourn,
On the yet un peopled plateau.
By my arts, I will the future, bend
- Although I can not see it -
Bend until the very peoples
Who shall form this rocky nation,
Will so hail the subtle daughter,
That their every living offspiring,
Will be known by her name also,
To the ending of the ages.
Pleased by this subtle Kennitala,
Told the mighty Leminkainen,
All the matter of the future,
She could see within the waters,
See - although she could not bend them,
Unlike mighty Leminkainen,
Thus her name was set forever
Known among the icy peoples
Of the dauntless elder iceland,
Home hence, travelled Leminkainen.
with the knowledge he had gathered.

Wolf Jamboree (Random wikipedia poem)
Wolf Pack Jamboree
Huttser, call the role son, willya,
Be a Palla 'n pass the jam
Khaz, Kipcha dozed while making tea, was ticked off by his mam.
Brassa brought no funds, again! Bran at least had fibre treats
Larka got on all their nerves, dressed as a ghost, in sheets
Fell just tripped and missed the boat,
The outing had to stop,
Which was okay because we'd all forgotten brother Skop.
With all the fuss he had missed the bus and we hadn't travelled far,
But that wasn't bad 'cos when he arrived we all went home by Kar.
The Sight is a novel written by David Clement-Davies about a pack of wolves. The pack members are: Huttser, Palla, Khaz, Kipcha, Brassa, Bran, Larka and Fell, though Kar and Palla's brother Skop join later.
The Collecting of Whitney Houston, some dangers involved (random wikipedia poem)
The man who collected Whiney Houston
Missed his vocation to a t,
By getting a more complaining singer,
Than the one he’d set out to see.
The man who collected Whitney Houston,
Admitted to having a Whitney problem,
On his Whitney Apollo 13,
Aliens wanted to Whitney probe them.
The man who collected Whitney Houston,
Couldn’t decide whether to re-buy, these,
CDs packaged like mini-records,
Comprising five of her best LPS.

Disambigously Larry Price (Random Wikipedia poem)
Mostly in Ohio, possibly, at least he was
A member of their House of Representatives,
In former times, and also worked,
In journalism and photography,
Parleying athleticism, in the media,
And (briefly?) for Ohio must have taken time,
He was a civil servant in Hawaii,
Really, he, did enough for three men,
I wonder if,
I might have got confused, If only there,
Was some resource by which these lives that cleave,
Could be divided cleanly in my mind.
But then, I have been a civil servant, and a novelist,
Lived in Liverpool and Sheffield, and in Wallington,
Been single, married. Written poetry.
Do I need disambiguation?
Do we all?

D H Lawrence's Doc Savage (random wikipedia poem)
Between the feathers of Quetzalcoatl,
And the scales,
Between the working title,
And the finished dawn,
He also wrote four essays,
Adding them to earlier writings on the Indians,
And later capping them with memories
Of lemon moonshine.
I, being, peculiarly, myself
Learning of them for this poem,
Will, I imagine read them, hoping,
To spot Clark Savage Senior, in the background
Enroute to Hildalgo.

Postscript:
And startling to read the first I find
The peculiar whistling of the parrots
Almost familiar, enough, to make me
Wish to retcon Doc Savage's
Un-nerving trill,
As his boyhood's memory, of
His father's travels.

The Saga (random wikipedia poem)
Then as the hammering in his forge, stilled, the Iron Master,
rose to hail the day, that Tiger Claw had earned his secret name,
and to explain, to all the hosts, him hailed, how
first began the war twixt Arashikage Clan and the Red Ninjas.
Thus, he said, it was - the rivalry of Snake-Eyes and Storm Shadow.
In that first set of trials that they were given, by the Hard Master
of those ancient days, which ended with the blame - if not the blood -
of family believed by one, to be shed by the other.
Thus that ire, that fire that dies not,
And the two are cleaved, the one to Cobra.
The other to mourn.
Then, from shadow's caul, the one call Duke, who standing
With Snake-Eyes, told Tiger Claw that someday, wounds will heal
And Storm Shadow return to Arashikage.
But then, as if, to speak of the lost one, were but to summon him -
Storm Shadow then appears, the rest is war,
Violence resolving nothing,
Endless grief.

Gjovalin Gjadri (random wikipedia poem)
On Gjovalin Gjadri, and Fame.
Gjadri who built the bridge near Milot, on the Mat,
And also set the span in Tirana
On Dëshmorët e Kombit Boulevard
Was born in Shkodër
His first name – to English readers - looks,
As if it might well rhyme with javalin
Gjovalin! Flung across the rolling waves!
Why is it you, who accomplished, real things,
In stone and steel should merit, so few words
While I, who wrote some tales, have many more?
Is it that words, breed words?
Well then, may all the children of the bridges,
Sing, their cables strung like harp strings,
To your praise.

DEATHWATCH AT LAKE SAGUARO (random wikipedia poem)
The damned end of the Lake lies
At latitude 33 degrees and 33 minutes North
(Give or take 56 seconds)
And
At longitude 111 degrees and 53 minutes West
(Give or take 61 seconds).
A strange albino rainbow trout, is often seen there.
(If often means, at least once every century)
And anyone who sees it.
Is sure to die.
(As much, as anyone who doesn’t, is)
Only, it must be said, generally quicker.
The Lake lies halfway between Phoenix, Arizona,
And the ghost town: Sunflower, about which –
Even Wikipedia is dumb.
And halfway also between, by metaphor,
The Resurrection, and the Grave.
It is therefore, the Lake of Life Itself.
Full of sunfish, catfish, walleye, tilapia and yellow perch.
Full of, at least one, undying albino bleached-out-rainbow trout,
With eyes like glazed half molten gobstoppers,
And a snide look to its mouth, where it chews hooks for fun.
In Sunflower, they talked of people ‘leaving for the lake’.
Until one day, there was no-one left to talk.
Someday soon, maybe, someone in Phoenix,
Will put some gas in the tank of his truck, and
Lit out, up route 87, ‘leaving for the lake’
The trickle will begin, until, eventually,
Six centuries hence, Phoenix will be a ghost town,
About which, even trans-ultra-pedia is dumb.
Unless of course, we catch the rainbow first.
Frying the devil on our skillets.
We try hard, but fishing blindfold
(To avoid the curse), is at best fiddly,
And at worst, begging for an accident.
Twice now our hooks have bit into our own cheeks.
