Christmas Bears

Now bears in nature sleep through snow
They miss out on the holly
'til recently they didn't know
That winter can be jolly.

But now they sit on sofa's warm
And watch the Christmas telly,
For bears will never come to harm
With yuletide logs and jelly.

A teddybear's a Christmas friend
And bears in woods are their kin,
They all will hug you and will send,
A present (not a bearskin).

We like to see them wave their paws,
And generally cheer us,
So altogether some applause,
So all the bears can hear us.

[Poem to my mum's collection of teddybears,
by me 27/12/94.  In her papers.]
