Mourning

If I could only take those golden coins
From off your eyes
And give you back the sight
Of sky, and sea, and fields,
Of all the worlds delight,
I would lose nothing, for
What can I see?
Without you but,
The endless broke shores,
Of all the empty hours that are not yours
And mine, but only mine,
Alone in companies
Less than divine,
That once you would have,
Brought to greater life,
I wish I had the courage,
Of the knife.
