"Pantoumas"

Evil incarnate? Possibly, he falls,
Shadow like across the pages of the book,
Darkening its history, smearing blood on walls,
A terror, in a glance, a gaze, a look.

Shadow like across the pages of the book,
We find our blind spot falls upon his face.
A terror, in a glance, a gaze, a look,
An emptying of virtue from its place.

We find our blind spot falls upon his face.
His murders are committed in the dark,
An emptying of virtue from its place.
The beast that howls within the formal park.

His murders are committed in the dark,
And though they flash, as lightening is keen,
The beast that howls within the formal park,
Is horrible, in that, it moves unseen.

And though they flash, as lightening is keen,
No light is shed, on motive, and his thought,
Is horrible, in that, it moves unseen,
From crime to crime, with no moral retort.

No light is shed, on motive, and his thought,
It's opaque to the mind of normal man,
From crime to crime, with no moral retort,
He moves, and though he must possess a plan,

It's opaque to the mind of normal man,
He steals, and spends vast wealth, but why?
He moves, and though he must possess a plan,
It seems to be, just, screaming at the sky!

He steals, and spends vast wealth, but why?
To build more piles of bones, to kill more souls?
It seems to be, just, screaming at the sky!
He has no natural good, no common goals.

To build more piles of bones, to kill more souls?
Darkening its history, smearing blood on walls?
He has no natural good, no common goals.
Evil incarnate? Possibly. He falls.
